ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES

There's something for everyone at ESVMG

Class Planning  This is a group activity with a leader who plan and coordinate training for the upcoming Master Gardener class. 

Correspondence Secretary  Sends out Thank You cards, notes or letters to any person who has donated items, such as plants for fund raisers, or and speakers, such as classroom instructors, or any person who should receive an acknowledgement of their actions for the benefit of the MG’s. 

Hospitality  Coordinates refreshments and purchases supplies for the new class and for General meetings. 

Hotline and E-mail Monitoring Assigned member has responsibility to monitor and respond to voicemail and e-mail messages regarding questions from the general public concerning anything relative to horticulture/gardening. 

Library Books  MG’s buy books on gardening for the collections of each of the four Eastern Shore Libraries (Island, Accomac, Nassawadox & Cape Charles) each year. 

Publicity:   Coordinates the publicity via newspapers, newsletters, etc. for all Master Gardener events and projects.

Public Speaking  Open to all.  If you have a topic pertaining to horticulture that you feel knowledgeable about and would give a talk, a demonstration (if possible),  followed by a question and answer secession or teach a class in building/making something. 

Plant Sales/Information Clinics.  Plant sales/clinics held in coordination with Cape Charles Farmer's Market and the Onancock Farmer’s Market and Saturday Yard Sales. Help organize volunteers, pick ups and drop off information and/or plants, and interact with the public.

           

Webmaster  The webmaster is responsible for maintaining the ESMG’s website updating content as needed and publishing those activities that have been authorized by the Board.
