The Refuge Gardens at the Bateman Visitor Center, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Assateague Island

Yes, there are wild ponies, the Delmarva Fox squirrel, and thousands of migrating birds at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. But there are also three gardens of native plants located behind the Bateman Visitors Center.

You can stroll through the Bird, Pollinator and Rain Garden or view them from the Visitor Center Window.

Join local Master Gardeners most Friday mornings with planting, nurturing and weeding!
